Arrival by public transport
- The nearest ZVV stop, Löwenbräu, is barrier-free for people with limited mobility.
- The stop is located about 75 metres from the barrier-free entrance to the building at Limmatstrasse 268 and about 100 metres from the entrance to the main entrance at Limmatstrasse 270.
- Two accessible parking spaces are available in the inner courtyard (free of charge). These parking spaces cannot be reserved.
- To reach the barrier-free entrance from the accessible parking lot, leave the inner courtyard through the same driveway which you used to enter by car. Take two left turns to get to Limmatstrasse.
- From there, continue along the building for about 100 metres until you reach the barrier-free entrance.
Access for people with mobility impairments
- Barrier-free access for people with mobility impairments, wheelchairs or pushchairs is available at the highlighted side entrance to Limmatstrasse 268 (see image above).
Access for people with visual impairments
- People with visual impairments are asked to use the main entrance to Limmatstrasse 270, which is accessed via stairs (14 steps up).
- The glass doors at the entrance to the building are equipped with safety markings.
- There are no glass doors in the museum itself.
Accessibility inside the building
- The historical building complex is a listed building. However, it has barrier-free access options:
- There is a lift from the entrance for people with mobility impairments to the ground floor of Limmatstrasse 268.
- From there, the Bistro LOI leads directly to the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst at Limmatstrasse 270 (marked orange on the map).
- Outside of the bistro's opening hours, you can access the museum via level A, which can also be reached by lift. On the other side of level A, a second lift leads to the ground floor of Limmatrasse 270 (pink in the plan).
- A gender-neutral wheelchair toilet is located in the first basement. It can be reached via the lift at Limmatstrasse 270.
Accessibility inside the museum
- All exhibition levels within the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst are accessible by lift.
- Assistance dogs are welcome at the exhibition.
- We provide wheelchairs for people with limited mobility. Please contact the visitor service at the entrance to the museum.
- Sufficient seating is provided in the exhibition and at all video installations.
- To improve accessibility for people with visual impairments, the steps in the museum are marked in high contrast.
Information about the exhibitions
- An information flyer about the current exhibitions is available in German and English.
- The same information is also available in simple German and English. • You can view and save the texts on your own mobile device using a QR code.
- A video in German sign language in the entrance area of the museum provides information about the exhibitions.
- An audio guide in German and English is available for individual exhibitions.
- Videos are subtitled in English.
- Scripts for the videos in the exhibition are available in German at reception.
- You can find texts about the individual works of art on the wall.
- These are also available as flyers in large print and can be taken into the exhibition.
- You can also view and save these on your own mobile device using a QR code.
- Notes have been added to all artistic content which the curatorial team has classified as sensitive.
- Tours of the exhibition are available in German and English.
- We also offer tours with audio descriptions and tours with interpretation into German sign language. Dates can be found here.
- Lectures and symposia accompanying the exhibition will be translated into sign language where possible. Dates can be found here.
- The Löwenbräukunst is a historical building. Access for people with limited mobility and wheelchairs is provided on every level. However, the routes are not direct.
- Renovations are currently underway at Limmatstrasse 268. The construction site may cause additional, unforeseen obstacles. See below for contact information for our reception.
- The Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst currently has neither a floor guidance system nor floor indicators for people with visual impairments. The stairs in the museum are highlighted with high-contrast markings.
- The Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst currently does not have the technical facilities to implement a hearing system or induction loop for people with hearing impairments. Most videos in the exhibition are subtitled, including closed captioning.
- Labels are not displayed at a height suitable for wheelchairs, and the font size is small. However, flyers are available, and you can open the texts directly on your own smartphone.
- The lift is currently not equipped with Braille signs, and stops are not announced. The visitor service will be happy to help you get where you want to go.

- People with disabilities (alone or in groups) can plan their visit with accompaniment: Nadja Aebi from the museum team accompanies and supports our visitors (accessibility, mobility, questions) as needed.
