Vocal Matters: Exploring the Materiality of Sound
Meeting Point: Museum Entrance
Workshop curated and run by Mario Espinoza (artist). Assisted by Cynthia Gavranic (art mediator)
Mario Espinoza is a Venezuelan multidisciplinary artist, working mostly within the realm of vocal performance and naturalistic visual arts. He will impart a special workshop in the museum space focusing on the human voice as matter.
Together we will explore the acoustic possibilities of the museum’s architecture and bring awareness to our resonant bodies in response to the art surrounding us. The workshop will be centered around the voice as a tool for collective creation. Based on principles of circle singing, vocal exercises and body work, we will explore our vocality in a playful way. Come and feel the transformative power and health benefits of your voice!
